Dancing Queen

Six months ago I signed Delaney up for dance classes through the studio that I danced at as a child.  I was so excited for her!

Then we got there and she REFUSED to dance.  I mean she wouldn't leave my side, cried her eyes out, and told me the teacher was scary.  Mommy dreams crushed....

Fast forward to now.  I decided to try again, but this time through the city.

Is she not the cutest?!  She had a completely different attitude and was ready to dance this time.

I still had my doubts though.  I mean this kid runs hot and cold.  She doesn't deal with new things and change very well and she's a very strong willed child.

She was looking forward to making friends and loved her tap shoes.

I had my doubts, but she went in there alone and followed the teacher.  A completely different kid!  Such a relief.  This was a 6 week class and she only missed one class when I wasn't there to take her.  She refused to cooperate for her Daddy.  I still call 5 out of 6 a win though.

Harper so badly wanted to join her sissy.  Maybe next year little one...

I'll be signing Delaney up for dance again.  I hope to try the dance studio, but we'll see how it goes.

Double Digits

Kierstin is officially the big 1-0.

That's a whole decade folks.  Or two whole hands.  Another milestone.

What better way to celebrate than with a party at Great Skate!!

Seriously hard to believe that when I first met this girl she was barely walking and now we've entered the "tweens".

Eating pizza and goofing off.  Big brothers are good for bunny ears.  This picture has Delaney, Jasmine, Kierstin, Tyler and Jordan in it.

Justin Bieber cake!!  She doesn't like to admit that she has Bieber Fever.

Make a wish!

Delaney surprised us all by wanting to skate.  She did really well and loved skating around with her walker.  Such a big girl!

Harper got pushed around the rink in her stroller by her Daddy.  Which put her right to sleep.  Love that sweet face.

Anyways,

Happy 10th Birthday Kierstin!!!

Soccer

During the spring from March through May, both Jordan and Kierstin participated in soccer.  This was offered through the city we live in for fairly cheap.  If Jordan had his way he'd just play computer games all day, every day.  But I know that they both need to experience new things and be active.

Jordan loved soccer purely for the social aspect.  He is extremely friendly and is kind to everyone.  He makes conversation with complete strangers all the time.  I'm so glad that he's not shy like I've always been.

The picture above is at half time during one of his games.  He loved his coach (white shirt on the right side).  He said he was a lot of fun at practices.  There was lots of goofing off and acting silly.  Just how Jordan is on a daily basis.

Jordan's least favorite position was goalie.  He hated letting his team down when he didn't stop the ball.  He left a couple of games pretty upset.  Poor kid.

Goalie Jordan in action.

Overall Jordan enjoyed his soccer experience and wants to do it again in the fall.

Kierstin also had a great time playing soccer.  Whether she'll play again or not I'm not really sure.

Delaney loved being on the sidelines watching all the action and messing around with Harper.

Future soccer star?  Harper would run on the field just to watch us chase after her.  Little stinker.

When Kierstin's coach asked what position she wanted to play she asked to play "sub".  I think the girl was confused.  HA!

When we signed her up for soccer she didn't want to play, but by the end of the season she was glad we did.

I'm just glad that they both had a good experience.

The Bubble Run

WARNING:  THIS IS GOING TO BE A BIG TIME PHOTO DUMP.

I found another great Groupon deal for a Bubble Run in Phoenix!  This was the Saturday before Mother's Day and I wanted the whole family to run/walk this 5k with me.  We ended up leaving Harper with my friend Jayme after I watched a video of what would be going down at this little shin-dig.  The kids were so excited. Delaney asked daily if it was time to go play in the bubbles.

He apparently thinks he's too cool to smile for pictures these days.

Pre-Bubble fun.  Such pretty white shirts...

There were thousands of people so we had to wait a while to get going.  So we posed for a few before pictures.

Delaney spent minimal time in that stroller.  As we walked through the first bubble bog she was consumed by bubbles and did not want to be pushed through any more.

Right after the Pink Zone!!

This would be Delaney crying after going through the pink zone.  Not a happy camper.

Green Zone!  Rob, Jordan and Kierstin are reaching for the bubbles.  Rob tried to carry Delaney through it, but she was still not impressed.

Jordan on the other hand LOVED it.  He ran quite a bit with me too.  I'm going to have to get him to do a 5k with me someday.

Green Zone conquered!!

Blue Zone!!

I had a pretty good time too.  I pushed Delaney around the blue zone so she didn't have to go through it.  Then I went back and went through it by myself.

Delaney enjoyed playing with the bubbles.  She just didn't want to walk through the deep piles.

Yellow Zone!!

I was trying to strut....

Rob in the yellow bubbles.  Oh yeah and the bubbles smelled good too!  Yellow was banana, green was apple, blue was cotton candy and pink was bubble gum.

Jordan and Kierstin playing at the yellow zone.

The best family picture we could get thanks to a kind stranger.  Delaney refused to come near us.

Hi peeps!  Kierstin had an awesome time too.  However running is not her thing.

At the end of the race they had a deejay playing lots of great music and "bubble trees" for everyone to play in.  The kids (and Rob) enjoyed being buried in the bubbles.

I watched Delaney play at what she considered a safe distance from the bubble trees.

I think I should win Mom of the Year for this one.  No?

Busy Mom

Where have I been you ask?  Well life with four active kids and a full time job have left little time for blogging.  So here's an update in pictures.

Delaney likes to dress her sister.  Layering clothes is important in Arizona.  No?  Harper's face is priceless.

Hmmmm maybe putting Mommy's lipstick on wasn't such a great idea....  She might just have a future in clown school.

Baby's first pony tail.  Now I have two little girls hair to do.  This is both good and bad.  They sure look cute, but it's just another thing to get done before we head out the door.

Jordan and Kierstin have been in soccer since mid March.  Kierstin's team is the Navy Knights.

The silliness in our house abounds.  Never a dull moment.

We've taken shopping trips with friends.  Oh the sassiness in these girls.  That's Delaney's friend Janae.

Not sure why she's not happy, but HEY it's a good picture of Mommy!

You'd never know that she was sick that day...

Baby's first lollipop!  Look at those little lips!

Lot's of playtime in the backyard.  She's a big girl now and can climb up the slide and go down all by herself!

Shopping trips with Daddy.  Oh the germs!  I cringe...

Sand angels anyone???  Who needs snow?!

This girl is obsessed with shoes just like her sisters.

We've had our fair share of the sickies in this house.  Lot's of throwing up and ear infections.  See above shopping cart picture for possible source.

Oh look there's Jordan!  He was taking a break at his soccer game.  There's always time to cuddle with his little sister.  His team's name is the Terminators in case you were curious.

This picture was taken last night.  Harper is sick AGAIN.  I can't win.

Hopefully I blog more this month.  I'll try at least!
