Thursdays

Thursday is my favorite day of the week.  It's a day that I don't have to be at work.  It's a day that is all mine.  I spend the day with my kids and I can pretend that I'm a stay-at-home-mom.  I take Jordan to school and take care of my girls.  OH HOW I LOVE THURSDAYS!

There are LOTS of kisses and plenty of cuddle time.

I soak up those precious smiles and giggles.

There's lots of quality time and I enjoy every second (even the stressful moments).  Delaney thinks she's a big girl in the shower.

We play together.

I actually put some thought into dinner and enjoy making it.  We had skinny chicken enchilada lasagna last night.  Yum!

I take lots of pictures to make up for the moments I miss during the week while I'm at work.

And we love when Daddy finally gets home from work.

I love my Thursdays and of course being a MOM.

Bat Baby

Maybe I'm the only one that finds this hilarious, but I laugh everytime I see it.  This picture was taken upside down.  I could have rotated the picture obviously, but what fun would that be?!  Love that she is hanging out, upside down.  My sweet lil bat baby! 

Vegas Baby!

Thank you Liz for deciding to celebrate your 30th birthday in Vegas!  We had a blast!  It was the perfect couple of nights away that we needed.

We left on Friday morning.  Rob and I were so excited for a little road trip alone with no screaming kids in the backseat.  It poured rain most of the way.  I'm talking poured so much rain that I could barely see out the front window.  It was a little scary a few times.  Not going to lie.  But we made it and checked into Paris Las Vegas!  Woo!!

It was fun to be carefree and act silly.  We ate at the Sugar Factory for dinner with our group of ten the first night.  There were five couples total.  Rob and I shared a fish bowl.  Yum!!  Rob also won 800 bucks on a slot machine that night.  My man never has luck like that.  Go Rob!!

The second day Rob and I roamed around Vegas.  We are used to being up early and everyone else was sleeping in or too hung over to function the next morning.  Let me just say to all you people who thought that I'd go crazy and wouldn't be able to handle my alcohol.  I did NOT get sick and I did NOT wake up hung over AT ALL.  Just sayin.  And so what if I was in bed by 11pm.  That's actually way past my bedtime and this girl enjoys her sleep!  Especially when I can sleep and not be woken up by a needy toddler or infant. 

Rob and I had not been away without kids since our honeymoon that was nearly 5 years ago.  This was long overdue.  We did miss our kids though and I'm glad that we weren't gone too long.

To Liz, Jenn and Tracey.  Love you guys!!  Let's not wait another 7 years to go back to Vegas together.  Maybe we can head back for my 35th birthday in a couple of years.

And of course no matter how much we enjoyed ourselves, there is no place like home.  Delaney and Kierstin were with Angela (Kierstin's mom).  Jordan and Harper were with Grandma F.  Thanks Mom for taking such good care of my babies over the weekend.  I'm so thankful that they have you in their lives.

BIG GIRL

The stats are in!  Harper weighs 17 lbs 13 oz (79th percentile) and she is 27.5 inches long (96th percentile).  She certainly does not get her height from me.  The pediatrician says that she looks perfect!

Feeling so blessed to have a very happy and most importantly healthy baby.  Happy Thursday!

Six Months Old! 07.07.12

Harper Leigh you are now SIX months old!!  

We are half way to your first birthday!!  That's complete craziness!!

Sleep:  You are still a great sleeper.  When we aren't working you generally sleep from 8pm until 6am.  Although within the last couple of weeks you've decided that you need to eat in the middle of the night.  That's just not okay with this tired working mama.

Feed:  Because you felt the need to eat in the middle of the night I decided that we needed to add solids to your diet.  So far we've tried rice cereal, sweet potatoes, carrots, squash, apples, bananas and green beans.  You don't like the bananas or green beans plain, but you will eat them mixed with rice cereal.  I also switched your formula again to Enfamil Gentlease and you're doing great on it.  Hopefully we don't have to switch it again.  You eat 6 oz every 4 hours or less.  You also have your solids twice a day.  In the morning and the evening.

Weight:  I have no idea.  Your next appointment with the pediatrician is today!  So I will update later.  I can't wait to find out how big of a chunky monkey you are!  I'm guessing around 17 or 18 lbs so we'll see.

Length:  Again I have no idea, but we'll find out this afternoon.  You already seem to be outgrowing your 6-9 month clothes because you are so long.  That's definitely not a trait you got from your Mommy.

Diapers:  You are in size 3 diapers.  Mostly Costco brand.

Clothes:  You are wearing 6-9 months clothes and I have some of Delaney's old 9-12 month clothes that fit you pretty well.

Hair Color:  Your hair is light brown with some blonde.  You don't have very much hair at all.

Eye Color: Your eyes are still a beautiful blue like Daddy's.

Milestones:  You are a rolling machine these days and you're so close to sitting up on your own.  You seem to be trying to get up on your hands and knees, but can't quite figure out how to do it yet.

Favorite toys:  Anything that you can get your hands on really.  You love to hold, touch and examine all things.  You love sitting in your bumbo or rolling around on the floor.  We are still using the play mat and the swing.  You won't be using the swing much longer though.

Grease

For Kierstin's birthday this year I knew that she didn't need another toy, video game, etc.  So I decided that the perfect gift for her would be an afternoon at a dinner theater to see one of her favorite shows.  Grease of course!!  I got lucky that it would be here for her birthday.  So I invited Grandma F and Jayme to go with us and hoped that she'd enjoy it.  She ended up LOVING everything about the experience!!

She got to meet the cast and wanted her picture taken with Sandy.  A couple of the pink ladies even passed by our table and sang right to her.  It was special for her and I'm glad she had a good time.  I don't really think she knew what to expect, so I do believe that it far exceeded her expectations.  We will definitely have to go see another show together sometime.

Thanks to Grandma F and Jayme for coming with us.  And thank you to Grandma D and Grandpa for helping fund part of her ticket.  This was definitely money well spent.

Half Birthday

Happy Half Birthday to Harper!!  It's hard to believe that an entire half of a year has come and gone already.  I love this little baby girl so much!!  Her six month post is coming soon.

Today is also 6 months postpartum for me.  I finally feel like I have my body back.  I'm below pre-pregnancy weight, although not at my goal yet.  My pre-pregnancy clothes fit better then they did before I got pregnant.  Some of them are even too big now.  That's a great feeling.  I weighed 150 this morning.  That means I've lost 35 lbs (or 49lbs if you count the weight that came off just by giving birth)!  I'm taking it one day at a time.  One work out at a time.  My hard work is paying off.  I'm a happy girl.

Our Fourth

We had a great time celebrating the holiday with friends yesterday!  Jayme, Nick, Landon and Leia Heuer came over.  As well as Mindy and Sophia Stanley.  We ate, watched the kids play, lit some fireworks, and enjoyed each others company.  And to top it all off the weather was perfect!  Such an amazing time with some of my favorite people!  I'm so glad that we were all able to get together to celebrate.

My baby sister is the big 3-0 today!!  Welcome to your thirties little sister!!!  Thanks for always being the best sister and special auntie to my kids.  We all love you very much.  Muah!!!  Cannot wait to celebrate with you in Vegas!!  I'm counting down the days!!  PAR-TAY!!

By the way Liz.  I'm less than four years into my thirties and they have been waaaaay better than my twenties.  Hope your thirties treat you well and that you make the most of them!
