Puckerface

This face kills me!  She's so silly.  Harper is definitely showing more of her personality.  If you make this face at her, she'll copy and do it right back at you.  Love my girl!

Photo Update

I thought I'd post some pictures I've taken over the last month.  A little update of what's been going on in the Kammeyer household if you will.

1.)  Harper at 8 months old.  I took her to get some pictures taken before she really becomes mobile and won't sit still for anyone.

2.)  Delaney got princess bubble bath at her party and so she insists on using it almost daily.

3.)  Delaney loves playing in our back yard and I often find her out there naked.  This girl will not keep her clothes on!

4.)  Harper is always ready to pose for Mom.  Love her!

5.)  I love having two daughters close in age.  I am excited to watch them grow up together.

6.)  Harper can stand up for short periods of time on her own, but she's not pulling herself up yet.  Don't you just love those booties?!

7.)  Watching the girls interact during bathtime is precious.  You can already tell that Harper looks up to her big sister.

8.)  This was Harper's first time in the shopping cart sitting like a big girl.  She usually sits in her infant carrier.  She was so quiet and looked around at everything.  Costco's carts are the best because the girls can sit side by side.

9.)  Total Daddy's girl.  Back off ladies, he's MINE =)

10.)  Kierstin got a magazine subscription for her birthday from her Grandma and Grandpa in NC.  She is obsessed with this thing.  Her bedroom walls are covered with posters from these magazines.  Awesome gift for her!

11.)  Delaney is getting so big and she stopped to pose for me while we were at Costco last month.

12.)  Jordan is doing so well in the sixth grade.  He brought home straight A's on his progress report this week.  He's making me so proud as usual.

13.)  Daddy's 3 little girls.

14.)  Harper wore those glasses for 2 seconds.  Good thing I'm quick with the camera.

15.)  I went to see the musical Legally Blonde with my Mom, sister and BFF.  It was such a fun show!

16.)  Self portrait.  I'm getting so close to my goal!  46 lbs lost with 4 to go!  I will post a before and after picture once I've lost all 50 lbs.

17.)  This is my messy house on any given day thanks to our 2 mini tornado's D and H.

18.)  Harper will spend and hour or more on the ground rolling around and playing with toys.

19.)  Delaney eating an Oreo blizzard.  A Friday night treat.

20.)  Besties!  Leia Heuer and Harper.

Tangled Party

We had a Tangled Party for Delaney last weekend for her third birthday.  Let me first say that she completely ran the show.  We bought her a Rapunzel costume as her birthday present.  She refused to wear it.  I bought another dress in case she didn't want to wear the costume and she refused to wear that dress too!!  Ugh!!  Three year olds!! Thank god for bribery.  She wanted to wear her pajamas to her party and didn't want me to touch her hair.  Thanks Liz for helping me out when I was ready to pull my hair out!!

We had these adorable cupcakes made for the party.  My sisters co-worker made them.  You can find their website here.  They turned out so cute and tasted so good!  Absolutely perfect for our theme.  And Delaney loved them which is what mattered most to me.

Here are some of the food and decorations.  We had pizza, pasta salad, 7 layer dip with tortilla chips, rainbow fruit skewers and cupcakes.  We also had a Rapunzel pinata and played "Pin Pasquel to Rapunzel."

Delaney opened one present (the camera shown above) and then refused to open anything else.  This girl definitely has a mind of her own and is so stubborn.  I have no idea where she gets it from =)

She LOVED when every one sang to her and she blew out her candles when we were finished.  She was even tapping her hand on the counter impatiently waiting for the singing to be done so she could go for it.

Delaney had lots of friends to play with and tons of people showed up that love her.  We are so blessed to have so many friends and family in our lives to help us celebrate this special little girl.

Delaney got a new tricycle from her Grandma and Grandpa K.  She loves peddling in circles in our kitchen.  She's fast so you have to be on high alert or you might get your toes run over!

She didn't get put down for nap time, but by the afternoon I found her passed out on Kierstin's bedroom floor.  That to me is a good sign of a successful party.

Happy Birthday Princess D!

Well Check

I took Delaney to the doctor on Friday for her 3 year well check.  She did great!!  She weighs 32.4 lbs (68th percentile) and she is 38 inches tall (74th percentile).  She let the doctor examine her and was very cooperative.  I'm glad she decided to be so well behaved for the doctor.  The doctor commented on how great she did and I told her that I have no idea who that kid is.  Haha!  She did have to get a flu shot and I'd been dreading it.  But the nurse was wonderful.  Delaney never saw the needle and it was all over with before she had a chance to react and cry.  I was so amazed.  NO TEARS!!  She's getting so big!

She did seem a little nervous...

Both girls passed out on the way home.  My sweet babies.

Eight Months Old! 09.07.12

Harper you are EIGHT months old now!!  We're on the downward slope to your first birthday.  Holy crap!!  This first year is going entirely too fast.

Sleep:  You are still sleeping well however, you've started waking up crying at least once every night around 9 or 10pm.  We've tried to let you cry it out, but you're just hysterical and need to be calmed down.  Usually a short rock in the rocking chair with a bottle is all you need.  I've noticed that you end up in odd positions in the crib.  I wanted to take a picture of you this morning in a "pike" position, but it was too dark and I didn't want to wake you.  I've also caught you a few times with your legs hanging out of the crib rails.  We have a breathable crib bumper, but that doesn't seem to keep your legs from finding a way out.

Feed:  Feeding is about the same.  You normally eat a 6 oz bottle five times a day with rice cereal, oatmeal, fruit or veggies twice a day.  I need to add in a third feeding and start finger foods as well.  You've decided that you love bananas, green beans and sweet peas.  Not really enjoying carrots.

Weight: You were 19.5 lbs at the doctor last week!  Still a big girl!

Length: I don't know exactly how long you are right now.  We'll find out next month at your well check.

Diapers/Clothes: You are still in size 3 diapers and 9-12 month clothes.

Hair Color/Eye Color: Every time I think your hair is lightening up it starts to look dark again.  It's a dark blonde for now.  Your eyes are still blue and I love them.  So pretty!

Milestones: You are a pro now at sitting on your own.  You'll sit on the ground and play with your toys all by yourself for quite a long time before you decide you're bored, hungry or tired.  You are also trying desperately to get up on your hands and knees.  It's usually one or the other.  For example you'll have your butt up in the air with your face in the carpet or you're pushing off your hands but can't get your knees underneath you.  You move backwards, but can't get the whole crawling forward thing figured out yet.  You also pivot your body in the direction you're headed and then roll to your destination.  I'm betting by 9 months you'll be a crawler.  Oh and you still have no teeth.

I should also mention that you are taking two naps now.  One in the morning and one in the afternoon.  It's so nice to count on those nap times to get things done now.  It's great!

Favorite toys: You love to hold Mommy or Daddy's cellphone.  If you see it you'll try to grab it or squeal to get our attention.  You're still using the activity bouncer, but would rather sit on the ground and rummage through toys.  You love things that play music or make noise.

D is THREE

Miss (Sassypants) Delaney is three years old today!!  I took this entire week off from work so I could spend some time at home with her (and Harper).  I can hardly believe that three years has passed already.  She was a very strong-willed little two year old so I know this year will be stressful interesting. Every time I feel like I want to pull my hair out, I just think back at how hard it was to get pregnant with her.  She really is a miracle.  Of course all children are, but Rob and I worked hard to make our dream of having a baby together come true.  And get your mind out of the gutter.  I'm talking IVF here.  I'm thankful that she's here and that she's MINE.  She's one amazing little girl.

I made her some birthday muffins this morning for breakfast.  They were cinnamon struessel.  We also sang happy birthday together and she may have blew out her candles at least a half a dozen times.

She's so excited to be three!  Don't let that sweet and innocent face fool you.  She's quite the little firecracker!

Delaney and I went to get our nails done together.  She got her finger nails and toe nails painted pink (of course).  Such a girly-girl.  She also managed to knock over the purple nail polish that I had picked out and shattered it all over the ground.  I was so embarrassed.  Ugh.  I got the "why can't you control your child" looks.

She may have had a dum-dum or THREE to keep her happy while I got my pedicure.   There is nothing relaxing about having a pedicure while your three year old is on tow.  This was actually the first time I've ever taken her with me for that very reason.

We met Daddy, Bubby and Harper at Mickey D's afterwards for dinner.  Obviously the birthday girls choice.

Mommy and daughter pretty toes.  Love those little feet.  Even when they're kicking the ground during a tantrum.  This year should be an interesting one for sure.  Love you princess D.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY FROM YOUR MAMA!
