Thirty what?!

Happy Birthday to the best daddy and husband I know! Rob is 38 years young today. He's inching ever so closely to the big 4-0. Maybe he didn't want his age announced, but I like to point it out because he will always be six years older than me. He will have to hit all those fun milestones loooooooooooong before I do. HA! We had his favorite ice cream cake last night and enjoyed birthday dinner at Black Angus tonight. Grandma Fisch was nice enough to join us. I hope he enjoyed his birthday. I know the rest of us did. YUM!

Ice cream cake the night before Rob's birthday. His favorite. It had chocolate chip ice cream rolled in a brownie with fudge frosting and whipped cream. Oh, and cherries on top. You're drooling right? And NO I didn't make it. HAHA! This was compliments of Baskin Robbins.

Jordan and Kierstin being silly at dinner. They were all hyped up on sugar at this point. Maybe soda and ice cream were not such a good idea. Hmmmmmmmm.......

We couldn't keep Delaney from putting her feet up on the table. I must have put that foot back in the high chair at least 2o times. It was fun to tickle that little foot though so we could hear her laugh.

The birthday boy. That's a chocolate chip cookie with ice cream on top. Happy Birthday my love.

13 Months Old

Delaney is 13 months old today and is officially a full time walker. No more crawling for this big girl! She started walking about a week after her birthday and keeps getting better and better at it. She tries to run but will stumble and fall. There have been lots of hard landings on her butt. It's a good thing she has her diaper for some cushion.

Delaney loves her baby. If you ask her where her baby is at, she will look around the room and go find her baby. Then you tell her to "love" her baby and she gives the baby a big hug which is usually proceeded with a kiss. It's absolutely precious.

This is very common now. Delaney walking around the house looking for her brother and sister. She loves to be where ever they are at and into whatever they have out to play with.

Happy 13 Months baby girl!!

Shout House!

I decided that Rob and I needed a date night. We don't go out alone much (ever) because of Delaney. It's easy finding a sitter for Jordan and Kierstin. They are not difficult to watch. Delaney obviously needs more care, so we usually just stay home or do something as a family. Rather than just go out alone, I decided it would be more fun to have a group date night. Rob wanted to go to Westgate so I picked SHOUT HOUSE!! I've been to the Shout House in Minneapolis, but never in Phoenix. We were looking forward to our night out. YEAH!! Grandma and Grandpa Fisch were nice enough to come watch the kids so we could go have some fun.

The Shout House is a dueling piano bar. Basically two men are up on the stage playing the piano and singing along to songs that we all know. I'm amazed that they can play these songs by memory and know all the words. Jayme and I sang our hearts out. We even did the Time Warp! So much fun!!

The brothers... John and Rob being silly with their big ass beers. They don't get to hang out with each other much, so I was glad my brother-in-law could come out.

The girls - Jayme, Jos, Liz, Tracey and Kris. It was great to spend some time with the girls and be silly.

The boys - Mike, Rob, John, Val, and Rossi (Nick not pictured). I think they enjoyed talking about football more than what was going on with the pianos. But I'm so glad they were all there.

I can't wait for another "group" date night someday. Hopefully we can make that happen sooner, rather than later. My birthday maybe... hmmmmmm.

12 month well check

Delaney had her 12 month well check today at the doctor's office. Other than it being an extremely long wait, it went pretty well. She had 3 shots so I thought we'd have a cranky baby tonight, but I was wrong. She was happy, ate well, played with her toys and went to bed without any problem.

At birth:
7lbs 12oz
At 12 months:
21lbs (51st percentile)

At birth:
20.5 inches long
At 12 months:
29 & 3/4 inches (73rd percentile)
I'd say she's growing like a weed. We must be doing something right!

Delaney is ONE!

This year has really felt like a dream for me. I get emotional just thinking about it. While some get pregnant without even trying, others have a more difficult journey. Mine is one that would bring me to my daughter. My happily ever after. Delaney is an IVF baby and I actually look forward to telling her the story someday of the very long journey we took to get pregnant with her and bring her into this world. She was my dream and the day she was born into this world, my dream came true.

Meeting my baby girl for the very first time on 9/6/09. I can't even describe the joy I felt when I finally had her in my arms.

Right after she was all cleaned up and put back in my arms. That truely was an extraordinary day. One of the best days of my life.

This is Delaney today. The happy birthday girl! She is so close to walking now. Anyday we are expecting her to just take off. She still only has 2 teeth. She waves bye-bye on queue now and tries to say it. She is also blowing kisses these days. So precious!

She's playing with one of the many, wonderful new toys she received for her birthday. This is her busy ball popper. She loves it!

Happy 1st Birthday baby girl!! We love you more then you will ever know.

Her FIRST birthday party ever!

I've thought about this party for many months now. Probably since right after she was born. What day would the party be on? What will she wear? What will we eat? Where should the party be at? What presents will I buy her? What kind of decorations should there be? I could go on and on. I look forward to my children's birthdays each year and Delaney's FIRST was no exception.

As for her attire, Delaney wore a onesie that had a number one on it and a pretty tutu. My friend Jayme ironed on the one and we both made the tutu. So easy and she looks so darn cute!

Her favorite place to be was under that tablecloth. We're lucky that she didn't pull all the food down on top of her.

I can't pass up a sweet moment with my princess..

Holding onto her Daddy and showing off her stylish birthday outfit.

Present time!! Jordan and Kierstin were by my side to help unwrap all of the wonderful gifts Delaney recieved. It's a good thing too because she was more interested in playing with the wrapping paper.

Check out her cool glasses from Uncle John, Aunt Linda and cousins Paige and Adam. She's stylin.. LOVE IT!

Happy to be turning ONE!

I'm attempting to get Delaney to help me unwrap her gift. It's not working out so well, but boy does she look cute!

She was so excited about her doll house!! Priceless.

The birthday cake. I helped her out and blew out the candle.

Aww, the smash cake...

And smash she did!

Mmmmmmmmm it was good. Operation FIRST birthday was a success. Until next year......
