Our Little Valentine

Just some sweet pictures of Delaney from her very first Valentine's Day. Someday she'll enjoy the special cards, chocolate's and flowers. But for now she's just happy being cute and posing for her Mama!

Daddy Daughter Dance

Rob and Kierstin attended the Daddy Daughter Dance at her school. They got all dressed up and off they went on their special "date" night. There's nothing better then seeing the two of them together. She's such a "Daddy's Little Girl". Now imagine 50 or so little girls with their Daddy's bouncing around doing the Cha Cha Slide. Wish I could have been a fly on a wall to watch that craziness.

Brotherly and Sisterly LOVE

I have to admit that we have the most proud big brother and big sister in the world. They absolutely adore their baby sister. Delaney has decided that her brother is pretty funny. All Jordan has to do is make a funny face and she's all grins and giggles. She is also trying to figure out how to give him kisses. She reaches for his face with both hands and with a wide open mouth leans forward. So precious. Then their is the big sister, Kierstin. Delaney has figured out that it's so much fun to pull her sisters hair and Kierstin gets quite a kick out of it too. Anything Delaney needs, her brother and sister will dutifully get for her. Which isn't quite so bad for Rob and I when we need an extra hand. Yeah for big kids!

Rice Cereal

Her face says it all! We decided to give Delaney her first taste of solid food last night. The oh so appetizing rice cereal. She was very cooperative. She opened her mouth when I presented the spoon in front of her. I put it in her mouth and she gave me this look of disgust. I'm sure I will see that face a lot as she tries new things. Just thought this picture was too cute not to share.

Our Karate Kid

We are so very proud to announce that Jordan now has his BLACK belt in Tae Kwon Do! This has been 2 years in the making. Jordan has faithfully attended classes twice a week to get to this point. Every couple of months he would have to test to get a different color belt. We have been through.. white, orange, yellow, camoflauge, green, purple, blue, brown, red, black/red and now BLACK. He set a goal and has happily achieved what he set out to do. So he is now a 1st degree black belt and has informed me that he wants to be a 2nd degree black belt. I have no doubt that if he keeps up the hard work, he can do it. Congrats Jordan!

4 Months Old!

I know how fast they grow because of Jordan, but man has it already been 4 months!?! Delaney has changed so much in just a short time. She now weighs 14 lbs 4 oz and is 24 inches long. Here is a list of her many talents at this point....

* Lifts her head very well now when on her tummy.
* Can roll from her back to her tummy.
* Loves to sit up with support, either in your lap or in the Bumbo.
* Tracks objects very well with her eyes.
* Bats at objects that are in front of her.
* Puts her hands together and grabs things.
* Chews on EVERYTHING.
* Has found her feet and can almost put them in her mouth.
* Very vocal with coos, gurgles and squeals.
* Lots of smiles and laughter.
* Can bear weight on her legs.
* Makes the "Ma Ma" sound when she cries.
* Blows bubbles.
She is absolutely, without a doubt a Mama's Girl. I'm her favorite person in the world right now, and I'm loving every minute of it! My favorite part of the day is bathtime. She has always enjoyed the bath, but she has now figured out that she can kick and splash and make a big mess! She will splash and then look at us for a reaction. For now we encourage her fun. Daddy's going to have a field day with her when she gets older! He's always telling Jordan and Kierstin not to get water on the floor. But for now Delaney can take full advantage of it. My other favorite thing to do is cuddle with her. She snuggles with me and buries her head in my chest. There aren't enough words in this world to describe the love I feel for Delaney. Happy 4 months baby girl!

Baby's 1st Christmas

It's been a very long time since we've had a Baby's 1st Christmas. My baby boy is not so little anymore, so I was very much looking forward to this holiday. Not only because it was Delaney's 1st Christmas, but because it was our first Christmas as a family of five. Delaney was the piece that was missing. Now that we have the "yours, mine and ours" aspect, we feel fulfilled with our family.

Christmas Eve was spent together at Central United Methodist Church. This is the church I spent my childhood at, so it's always good to go back. We attended the 5 o'clock family service and then headed home. At home the kids were allowed to open one gift. This of course was the traditional Christmas pajamas, a tradition I've carried on from my Mom. We watched a movie and read a few Chistmas stories before they were off to bed so that Santa could come. Jordan wanted to make sure that we left cookies and milk for Santa, plus carrots for the reindeer. Very cute! I'm a little sad because he's at the age where he is really doubting Santa's existence, but wants very badly for him to be real.

On Christmas morning I got up early before the kids were awake. I dressed Delaney in her "Baby's 1st Christmas" attire and layed her down next to the Christmas tree. I went off to the bathroom to put on some make-up. When I came back she had torn open one of Kierstin's gifts! Oops!! The kids woke up shortly after that and eagerly went through their stockings. My Mom, Paul, Liz and Mike came over to join us. We all enjoyed a morning of presents, breakfast and laughter. Delaney slept through most of her 1st Christmas, but I'm sure she enjoyed it. Well, at least I enjoyed it for her!
