Baby's 1st Christmas

It's been a very long time since we've had a Baby's 1st Christmas. My baby boy is not so little anymore, so I was very much looking forward to this holiday. Not only because it was Delaney's 1st Christmas, but because it was our first Christmas as a family of five. Delaney was the piece that was missing. Now that we have the "yours, mine and ours" aspect, we feel fulfilled with our family.

Christmas Eve was spent together at Central United Methodist Church. This is the church I spent my childhood at, so it's always good to go back. We attended the 5 o'clock family service and then headed home. At home the kids were allowed to open one gift. This of course was the traditional Christmas pajamas, a tradition I've carried on from my Mom. We watched a movie and read a few Chistmas stories before they were off to bed so that Santa could come. Jordan wanted to make sure that we left cookies and milk for Santa, plus carrots for the reindeer. Very cute! I'm a little sad because he's at the age where he is really doubting Santa's existence, but wants very badly for him to be real.

On Christmas morning I got up early before the kids were awake. I dressed Delaney in her "Baby's 1st Christmas" attire and layed her down next to the Christmas tree. I went off to the bathroom to put on some make-up. When I came back she had torn open one of Kierstin's gifts! Oops!! The kids woke up shortly after that and eagerly went through their stockings. My Mom, Paul, Liz and Mike came over to join us. We all enjoyed a morning of presents, breakfast and laughter. Delaney slept through most of her 1st Christmas, but I'm sure she enjoyed it. Well, at least I enjoyed it for her!

Delaney Grace Kammeyer

I'm proud to announce that Delaney Grace Kammeyer was born on 9/6/09 @ 2:53pm. She was 7 lbs 12oz & 20.5 inches long. Very healthy & perfect in every way!! I was induced and it was the most wonderful experience. I was fearful because of the horror stories I had heard about induction, but I couldn't have been more pleased. We waited so long for her and to finally have her in our arms was such an amazing feeling. We are truely blessed!!

1st Day Of School

Jordan and Kierstin returned to school last week. Jordan is 9 and in the 3rd grade and was so excited to go back. He is my social butterfly and completely opposite from me. He couldn't wait to get back to school just to socialize. He loves his teacher and I'm sure he'll have a great year. Kierstin is 6 and repeating Kindergarten. She had a tough time last year. She had not been to Preschool prior to starting Kindergarten and I really feel like that hurt her. She complained that the days were too long and just was not getting the work. Besides the fact that she missed a lot of school because she was sick so often. The school felt like she was on the immature side and recommended she do it all over again. So far she seems to be doing much better. Hopefully she enjoys the year and makes a lot of new friends.

IMPATIENTLY waiting for baby...

This has been the world's longest pregnancy. I found out that I was pregnant, after struggling with secondary infertility, on 12/29/08. It was the best possible way to bring in the new year and end our year of disappointment. I have never been so happy to see 2 lines in my life!! So basically I was only 12 days past conception when we found out. I'm about to enter my 37th week of pregnancy and cannot wait to hold my baby girl in my arms. It's a joy that I was afraid I was never going to be able to feel again. And even though she is almost here and I have this huge belly with a baby moving around, it still seems at times too good to be true. To say that I'm uncomfortable would be an understatement. I swore that when I finally got pregnant that I would never complain about a single ache or pain. That's pretty impossible! After 9 years I have completely forgotten about all of this. Or maybe because I was 21 last time and I'm 30 now it makes a big difference. Jordan and Kierstin keep asking when the baby will be here. So they are almost as anxious as me to meet her. We are all on pins and needles!! HURRY UP BABY GIRL!!!

Intro

I've finally decided to start a blog! We'll see how good I am about keeping it updated.

Rob and I have been married for almost 2 years now. We met in December of 2004 at work. Then started seriously dating in July of 2006. Our kids, Jordan and Kierstin, hit it off right away and were acting like brother and sister from the very beginning. I had never dated a man with a child before, but found that having Kierstin around was wonderful. Our family fit together perfectly! We married on October 20th 2007 and are now expecting our new addition on September 9th 2009. This baby girl will complete our family and we couldn't be more excited to meet her!!
