Family Pictures

I realized recently that Delaney will be 2 soon and we haven't had a family picture taken together since before she was born.  Which means that I have zero professional pictures of our family of five.  So no better time then the present to finally get this taken care of.

It's unbelieveable how huge these kids are getting.

We tried to include Delaney in this picture, but she wanted nothing to do with it.  Maybe next year?

The only individual picture of Delaney for the day.

 My favorite picture.

I love that Jordan is looking at his baby sister in this picture.  So sweet.

Easter Sunday

Every Easter is the same.  The kids open their baskets from the Easter Bunny,  we head to church for the morning worship service, we come home for lunch with family and then we pass out on the couch from all the food and candy.  I was seriously exhausted by 2pm.  Here are the highlights from our day.

The kids opening their baskets right after they woke up.  It's tradition that the Easter Bunny hides their baskets somewhere in the house and they have to find them.

Last year Delaney sat next to her basket in a pretty pink dress.  How is it possible that she's so big now?!?!

The kids heading into church with Grandma and Grandpa Fisch.

The best picture I could get of the three kids.  Delaney didn't want to sit still for 2 seconds which is why she looks like she's about ready to scream.

Who needs Delaney?  They've become quite good at posing.

The only decent picture of the two of us.

Jordan and Kierstin were being good big brother and sister by following Delaney up the stairs.

Their Sunday best.  Please ignore Jordan's flip flops.

My pretty baby girl.  I would love to put pony tails in her hair with bows.  Sigh.  But why bother?  She pulls them out the second I put them in!  Can't wait until she likes having her hair done.

 The hunt is on!

We celebrated my father-in-laws birthday which was the next day.  Happy Birthday Lee!

Delaney was very anxious to get her hands on that cake.

OH MY!!!!!

HAPPY EASTER EVERYONE!!!!

Coloring Eggs

We color eggs every year only because the kids enjoy it.  We don't hide these eggs or eat them.  I usually send them home with Grandma and Grandpa so they can enjoy deviled eggs or egg salad sandwiches.

Jordan and Kierstin hard at work as you can see.
They take their work very seriously.

Delaney quietly observed what was happening.  She didn't care at all to help them color the eggs.  Maybe next year she can get messy, but we'll be moving this project outdoors if that's the case.

 The almost finished product.

Oh and yes, we were there too.

Field Trip

Jordan's school took all the 4th and 5th graders on a field trip to the Grand Canyon.  While I've chaparoned field trips in the past, I knew that being on a bus with a bunch of 10 and 11 year olds for several hours was not my cup of tea.  Just imagine this.... three hours on the bus to Williams, AZ, two hours on a train to the rim of the Grand Canyon, three hours exploring the Grand Canyon, then two hours on the train back to Williams and three hours on a bus back home.  I'm not sure what adult would think that is fun.  Sure it's quality time with my kid, but I can do that at home!  Okay, maybe that was harsh.  Anyways, super Step-Dad Rob offered to go with Jordan to the Grand Canyon.  What a great guy!!!

My boys before they headed out.  Matching shirts and all!

Jordan's all ready to board the train.

Jordan with his "girlfriend" Adrianna.  Aren't they adorable?

Now ask Jordan about his trip to the Grand Canyon and he'll tell you about this little guy.  Not about how beautiful the view was, not about how fun the train ride was, but how the squirrels would jump right on your lap for food.  Typical 10 year old I suppose.  I'm glad he had a good time and that Rob survived the trip.  I don't think I can talk him into that again.  Hehehe.

19 Months

I really wanted to be better about blogging Delaney's development, but it just hasn't happened.  Life gets busy and so here I am finally with an update.

Delaney LOVES shoes or "choos" as she calls them.  She's wearing Sissy's slippers in the above picture, but she will gladly wear Daddy's sneakers too.  She often brings me my shoes when she knows we are leaving the house.

She will also climb into and on anything that she can.  She flipped this foot stool upside down and made herself a fun toy.

There she is with the tongue again.  Daddy was cleaning the dog kennel out, so why not climb inside?

She LOVES being outdoors.  We hope to have a nicer backyard someday for her to play in.

She calls Rob, Daddy.  I'm Mommy.  Jordan is Bubba or Bubby.  And Kierstin is Sissy.

Delaney would spend hours in the swing if we let her.  As a matter of fact she's tried to fall asleep in it before.

She pulled all of her clothes out onto the floor.  She enjoys trying to dress herself.  But as you can see in the picture below....

She hasn't quite got the hang of it yet and gets very mad.  Baby Girl is growing up way too fast!

Renaissance Festival

Last weekend we went to the Renaissance Festival.  I've never been before but have always wanted to go.  It was fun but way too EXPENSIVE.  I'm glad the kids enjoyed it because we probably won't go back for a very long time.  You pay to get into the gate and then everything costs money inside with the exception of the shows that we watched very few of.  Oh well, it was good family time.

Kierstin and Jordan getting into character.

It was so hot that day and she's pastey white like her Mommy.  So glad that I am the only one that got sunburnt.  I was worried about everyone else except for myself.

Watching a show.  Melting in the sun.  We watched some funny jugglers, saw a guy get tomatoes thrown at him and my favorite, The Dead Bob show.

Mommy and Delaney.  Check out her tongue.  She has a seriously long tongue and she's always sticking it out.

Kierstin got her hair braided.  So pretty.

It was a braid headband with pink flowers tucked in it.

Jordan was most interested in the weapons of course.  He picked out a bow and arrow to take home.

The big kids can't resist the toys either.

For me?  They had mini wooden swords and shields for the little ones.

Before we left Jordan and Kierstin went thru a giant maze and luckily found their way out.  Here they are on their way down the slides.
